It's a Girl For Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes

Tom Cruise, 43, and Katie Holmes, 27, otherwise known as "TomKat" have given birth to their first child together. They named the new baby girl Suri, but I think I'll continue calling her "TomKitty" anyway because it's just so much cuter. Apparently the name Suri means "red rose" in Persian. This was easily one of the most talked about and highly anticipated celebrity births in a long time. Tom already has two adopted children, Connor and Isabella, from his past life when he was married to Nicole Kidman. Wait, do Scientologists even believe in past lives? I'll have to check on that and get back to you.

In the most ironic twist of fate possible, Brooke Shields and husband Chris Henchy have given birth to a baby girl named Grier Hammond just hours before Tom and Katie. Tom famously criticized Shields for her use of anti-depressants after giving birth to her first child. Brooke fought back and publicly lashed out at Cruise for his lack of compassion and understanding on the subject. This sparked a huge controversy but both parties survived the trauma.
