Looks like the couples counseling didn't take because Hilary Swank and Chad Lowe are officially getting a divorce. "Hilary Swank and Chad Lowe have jointly decided to divorce," the couple's lawyer told People magazine. "They continue to be friends and have the utmost respect for one another."

It was only a few months ago that Chad and Hilary decided to take some space to think things through. When an interviewer at the Golden Globes recently referred to Hilary as "single", she flipped out and said that she and Chad were working on their 8 year marriage.
