Spice Girl Melanie Brown Gives Birth to a Baby Girl

Tuesday April 3, 2007
Former Spice Girl Melanie Brown gave birth to a healthy baby girl early this morning, according to People magazine. She named the baby Angel Iris Murphy Brown, apparently honoring a specific last name. What a coincidence that the baby was born on her ex-boyfriend Eddie Murphy's birthday! Melanie, 31, (aka Scary Spice) has been stuck in an ugly battle with Eddie ever since she announced the pregnancy. Soon after splitting from the singer, Eddie hooked up with film producer Tracey Edmonds and Melanie was not pleased. Mostly, she was miffed at the fact that Eddie basically denied any speculation that the baby she was carrying could be his.

In an interview in December, Eddie responded to questions regarding the baby with a sharp tongue. "I don't know whose child that is until it comes out and has a blood test. You shouldn't jump to conclusions," he said. Remember when playboy Steven Bing denied that model Liz Hurley was carrying his lovechild? Boy was he embarrassed when the DNA tests linked him directly to that tot. I can't wait until the Eddie Murphy DNA results come out as I imagine he may have some apologizing to do.

Eddie Murphy has always had a “big mouth”. He can use it to apologize when and if the test results say he is the babies father!
