Alec Baldwin Wrote the Book on Fatherhood
Monday April 23, 2007
Alec Baldwin, also known as "angry dad", has apparently written a book for divorcing fathers everywhere. According to the NY Post, the finished book titled, "Life After Divorce," is scheduled to hit bookshelves later this year. The first part of the book is spent bashing Kim Basinger with all the details of their ugly custody battle. The rest of it appears to have Alec giving advice to other fathers going through similar situations.
Some might say that Alec has no idea how to be a good father, as evidenced by his recent treatment of Ireland. The notion inspired me to come up with a few ironic celebrity authors of my own. Here are some imaginary Hollywood authors and their book titles for your general amusement:
- Cher: Growing Old Gracefully in Hollywood
- Paris Hilton: How to Live in Los Angeles on a Budget
- Nicole Richie: The Importance of Eating Food Every Day
- Christie Brinkley: Marriage - Getting it Right the First Time

I understand why you think that way regarding Alec Baldwin’s being qualified to speak on this subject. However, I have experienced what he is talking about within my circle of friends. My very dear friend’s son went though a very similar type of divorce and the children have been alienated from him and their grandparents also.
They were a very close family and my friend is devestated. Alec’s words concerning the courts, lawyers, etc were almost verbatim of my friend’s. It seems like many parents(and grandparents) are alienated from the children after a divorce and the courts are ignoring it and the fact that it is usually due to one angry parent not caring about anyone else but their own revenge and the courts are ignoring it!!!!
This is one of the unfunniest things I have come across. What qualifies you (looking quite likely to be un-married and childless, or at least not divorced) to criticize him? Strikes me that you are an apt addition to your own little list. Now that’s irony.
What humorless god bestowed upon SEL the birthright of humor annointer?
In american modern street english: You are an unfunny guy or girl or martian; trying to write a comment on what is funny and what is not.
It’s almost apt that YOU be added to the list penning a book on “Funny Things 101″ except.. you would not be qualified.
p.s. alec baldwin stinks and those who defend him stink even more.
I understand you’re just writing celebrity gossip, but must you evidence a complete misunderstanding of the serious issues at hand here? You wrote nothing funny, much less insightful.
The American public is ignorant and anti-father for the most part thanks to the malicious mothers, the media, radical feminist, the govt and the “family” courts.
This is nothing more than legalized kidnapping and extortion and a way for the above to line thier pockets at the expense of stomping on the rights of divorced dads and forcefully impoverishing them and turning them into indentured servants.
And by the way, any dad who loves his children in divorce will have to pay and pay and pay to fight alienation, fraud, use of the child….by “family” courts that reward mothers who purposely sabotage the situation and use the child.
The fathers are then forced into a life of “visitation” and are lucky to see their child 4 days per month!
The real issue is that an eleven year old girl is missing out on the most important relationship of her life; the one with her Dad.
Some of you will be surprised to know it is a much more important relationship than with the one with her Mom. A positive relationship with her Dad will be a greater influence and indicater of her future success and growing up as a well adjusted adult.
Then again, there are no alienating Mom’s who care or are concerened with the long-term wellmness of their daughters.
Otherwise, they would encourage a positive relationship for their daughter with the Dad, instead of trying to control, interfere and eliminate it from their kids life.
Message to alienating Mom’s who say they really care and love their daughters: stop being selfish and jealous about the relationship your daughter(s)has with her Dad. Show that you care by inisting on a positive relationship with your childrens Dad.
Get over your own lost relationship and quit dragging your daughters through your failure.
Fathers are not the only ones who get hurt , there our lots of women who suffer at the hands of cruel men . Now i`m not saying that Mr. Baldwin is in anyway like that , but there are men and women alike who get hurt in messy divorces and child custody .Sadly its the children who pay the highest price , they get pulled in two directions like a tug of war toy ….
Alec, get on with your life. You exemplified your horrendous parenting skills with your phone message rant to your poor daughter. You appear to be pathetic and bitter, a “man-scorned” so to speak.
Get your act together…go on a diet and get some help.
Believe me, the custody laws are in place for good reason, you are a perfect example of that. Poor Kim and Ireland.
Already the negattive comments of a radival feminist women who has been brainwashed by the system. Alec may not be the poster child for the new series “Father Knows Best”, however his experience with the family court system is most compelling.
Our society has been crippled by a massive divorce industry which is by design set up to destroy families and dash all hopes of a positive post divorce environmrnt.
Its about extracting the family units net worth at the financil and emotional health of all parties involved.
At least Alec is speaking out and many good fathers and mothers are doing.
You need a reality check because you have know idea what family court is about. How would you like to have your children, career, all asset, reputation completely destroyed and then criminalize all based on false alligations created by lawyers?
Do your research please!
http://www.paawareness.org & http://www.hostile-aggressive-parenting.com .. I think poor Irland is getting it from both ends, one side more than the other! May god help her through it all!
Alec is not alienated from his daughter. In his own words he says he has a normal relationship with her. Look at the pic? She is smiling. No alienation here!

you have no idea what it is like to be a dad and go through a court case like that how dare you
i didnt like hearing how alec baldwin snapped on his daughters phone when she didnt answer. i felt bad that he also had to explain it to us when its none of our business. thats the way it goes. i believe he absolutely regrets it and is sorry. not to us but his daughter mostly. what qualifies him to write this book?, you ask, Well you ignorant snob, his experience qualifies him. Are you that dumb? Really, you dont know his personal life with his marriage. Only the two of them do. And if we are asked for just an opinion on that, o.k. I believe he loves his daughter, had a selfish wife who knew how to push the exact buttons to screw him over so he’d “look” bad. He never treated his daughter the same as he treated her. thats because its a completly different relationship. his marriage ended, not his father/daughter relationship. Kim Basinger tried to mess with that out of hate and spite. she should be ashamed of herself. she makes me sick. she knew he loved ireland and chose to deprive her of that. if thinking she needs a hard punch in the face means i have a temper, i could accept that. doesnt mean ill do it. Alec Baldwin just wants to be a part of his daughters life. Coming from a big family, he values that in his life and expected to share in raising his daughter. thats natural. kim is selfish and shes the pig.
The fact that the Judges, Attorneys and the court systems are corrupt and contribute to the divorce industry in this country cannot continue to be ignored. These Attorneys and Judges line their pockets with people’s family misfortunes. Parental Alienation does exist by this term or any other, Unfortunately this is very common as sick as this may sound. Truth is, more often than not there is usually a very bitter and often times mentally immature and or vindictive enough to engage in this destructive behavior. Case point google or yahoo Jose Teyra’s name and you will find a classic example of this family disaster. How about it Alec? maybe its time for a Hollywood movie to bring this matter the attention it deserves. The sad part is that most fathers end up killing themselves, because of the emotional damage this causes!
