Did Reese Witherspoon really dump Jake Gyllenhaal over a rumored indiscretion with Jessica Simpson? The folks at Life & Style magazine are claiming that when Jake confessed to Reese that he went on a date with Jessica, she was less than pleased and ended their relationship. Even though the actor allegedly claimed to have zero interest in the blonde singer, it was too late for him to do damage control.

This takes me back to the short lived rumors in June that Tony Romo may have cooled things off with Carrie Underwood because of his interest in Miss Jessica. If any of this is true (and I doubt that it is), what kind of hold could Nick Lachey's ex have on all of these men?
