Nicole Richie Spends a Measly 82 Minutes in Jail

Nicole Richie somehow managed to top her former BFF Paris Hilton's original record by being released after serving less than 2 hours in jail - 82 minutes to be exact. According to the sentence, Nicole was scheduled to spend four days behind bars for her two DUI offenses and let's not forget the admitted drug abuse.

According to People, the LA County Sheriff's Department cited the reason for her early release as overcrowding in the cells. That may be true, but I like to think of it as the rich and famous simply continuing to get away with murder.

In addition to making a joke of our legal system by serving a couple of minutes, the pregnant skeleton was put on a three-year probation and scheduled for an alcohol education program. Oh, and she was also slapped with a fine of $2,048. What does that buy in Hollywood these days you ask? A few Chanel cosmetics and maybe a pair of flip flops.
