Miss California Christina Silva Gives the Crown and Title to Raquel Beezley

It looks like we have another beauty pageant scandal on our hands. At the Miss California USA pageant on November 25, Christina Silva was named Miss California and took ownership of the much coveted crown and title. Unfortunately for Christina, an "accounting error" revealed that she was the runner-up and Raquel Beezley was the actual winner, according to AP reports. Christina, 24, was forced to give the title away to Raquel Beezley, 21, who will now go on to represent California at the Miss USA pageant in April of 2008. "They never could explain their accounting error, but told me that if I didn't give up my crown, my personal integrity could be questioned, and my career could potentially suffer," Christina said in a statement.
Once the mistake was discovered, pageant officials did allow her to keep the original crown, sash and necklace while they make duplicates for Raquel Beezley. I wonder how much Christina will be able to sell that stuff for on Ebay. Come on, you don't actually think she'd want to keep those painful memories around, do you?

That poor girl had to give the title up and she must be so upset. I feel so bad for her and hopefully something good will come out of this experience for Christina.
give me a break, “poor girl” she knows she didn’t win. The whole audience booed when Raquel took 2nd place. we drove home thinking there had to be a mistake.
why would they need to retabulate when everything is supposed to be final! makes you wonder how many pageant mistakes are really made and why they even score the contestants. What caused them to go back and review the scores?

took all the vip seats that were supposly sold out months ago. Doesn’t that sound fishy and they got those seats.
Christina is a beautiful girl both inside and out. California is lucky to have her represent. She has a deep faith in Christ and no doubt will overcome all obstacles that she faces. May God continue to Bless you and keep you safe.

1. Invest Millions of your mommy and daddies dollars to K2 Productions
2. Become personal friends with Keith Lewis ($$$$$) Sign up as one of his models at the The Moron Agency, I mean The Morgan Agency
3. Compete 4 years in a row in the Miss California USA Competition as Miss Barstow with mommy and daddy prancing you around like a puppet
4. Cry and complain to the higher ups that you did not win and make it clear how much money you put into Keith Lewis’s mansion
5. Clearly fashion and style was not what the “judges” wanted in the winner. Hello have you seen pictures of Raquel’s wardrobe. Talk about What Not To Wear!
6. Be mean and unkind to other contestants. Yes Raquel we all knew how unfriendly and cold you were not just this year but the years past
7.Go on Fox News, a nationally syndicated show, and answer questions in the dumbest way possible
(Please everyone go on You Tube and watch her interview, it really proves to me and many others that the competition was fixed!!!)
8. Work at a pizza joint
9. Have no sense of self -worth and lack in higher-education “I am a beauty queen, I am pretty, Save the Whales and Free Willie”
10. Do not have any future ambitions, goals, or education. Who needs it when all she has strived for and I quote
“It has been my dream my whole life to be Miss USA now I will. That’s all I ever wanted”
You Just have to be stupid, make love to Keith Lewis (financially), look like a wannabe Barbie Doll and oh yes have one of the worst sense of style one has seen in ages. Who is your stylist? I realize Keith appeared on the oh so “classy” show Charm School but did he really need “Hottie” or “Buckwild” to dress you? Did you really think your evening gown was even appropriate? I mean yes it was for Prom 1994, it was hideous!
I end this by saying..
I support Obama for President because I believe he is the vision for change that the country needs and not the status quo.
I support Christina Silva as Miss California and Miss USA 2008 because I also believed she was the vision for change in the pageant institute and not the status quo.
But like everything in this world politics overrule.
Obama will lose to Hillary. Christina “lost” to Raquel. Need I say more.

After all she did win Miss Congeniality 2008, something you couldn’t achieve the four years you competed and she is a leader and not a follower!

The Miss California officials appear to be not only unethical, but they are quite stupid if they think that anyone would believe their story of the miscalculation. I hope Miss Silva wins her lawsuit.

What happened to this young woman is not right at all. Accounting error or not. If the count was wrong I say Miss Silva should win anyway. Afterall it did work for G.W. Bush during the 2000 Presidential Election. But dropping the race card is just ridiculous. It’s sad that people today will use race today as a basis for everything….Don’t get me wrong. Race is a basis for some forms of discrimination and wrongdoings but not all of them. In time, after race has been used as an excuse far too many times, it will never be accepted as an excuse again
To all hispanics, please don’t take it personally. Your girl getting de-crowned is not Ms. Beezely fault. So don’t say your your girl is prettier bec. its has nothing to do with that. The error was in the counting of votes. So it was corrected and the REAL WINNER is declared. And the hispanic girl, she’s actually the fourth placer. not even second after everything was tabulated. Clear and simple. OK. So stop whining and stop harassing Ms. Beezley.

My guess is none of the people criticizing Keith Lewis or the way a pageant is set up have any clue how difficult it is to run. In the future it might be best not to talk about the things you don’t have the first clue about. If you think that the system is flawed, open your eyes and ask, what isn’t? Perhaps you think you could do a better job while all of these vicious competitors prance around you, acting as a constant distraction, and spit out comments about how they are “the best”. Perhaps you should consider turning that critical eye inward and ask why a large group of presumably healthy individuals feel the need to rattle off the many “issues” in this industry like some sort of know-it-all expert, as though it gives their sycophantic little lives meaning.
Well Obama won and its 2009 and Christina is yesterday’s news. Now there is another controversy.
