Jessica Simpson is Working on a New Disaster Country Album

In the wake of a ridiculously poor turnout for her recent big screen effort, Jessica Simpson is back at work. Not to worry, instead of passing time on a movie set, she'll be doing it in the recording studio. Billboard reports that Jessica, 27, has already started recording a country album in Nashville.

"I am a country girl. I grew up in Texas, and country music was what I listened to. I always wanted to wait until the time was right," she told the magazine. It's a nice thought, but I don't necessarily think it's a timing thing. The acting gigs didn't pan out and her 2006 album, A Public Affair barely made the charts. I suspect it has to do with the fact that Jessica may have simply run out of creative avenues to pursue.
