The 2008 Golden Globe Awards are Officially Canceled

Organizers of The 2008 Golden Globe Awards have officially decide to pull the plug and cancel the big event. The ceremony, which was scheduled for Sunday January 13th, will be replaced with a press conference announcing the winners.

"We are all very disappointed that our traditional awards ceremony will not take place this year and that millions of viewers worldwide will be deprived of seeing many of their favorite stars celebrating 2007's outstanding achievements in motion pictures and television," HFPA president Jorge Camara said in a statement.

The decision followed a lot of back and forth discussions before they finally accepted the truth. Hollywood celebrities had no intention of crossing those picket lines and betraying their fellow colleagues. As unfortunate as the outcome is, I'm proud of the stars who stood their ground.
