Madonna Raises $472,000 for Charity

Last week, super charitable singer Madonna did her part to help the cause at a benefit in France to raise money for AIDS research. She auctioned off a custom made guitar as well as the contents of her fancy little handbag, including a used tube of lip gloss. The lucky winner paid $472,000 and even left with the original diamond encrusted alligator bag itself. Madonna, 49, joined forces with actress Sharon Stone to break records by raising over $10 million for amfAR.
Other items sold this year included 24 hours with Sean Diddy Combs for $314,000 and a private striptease with Dita Von Teese for $77,000. If you recall, last year George Clooney managed to sell a kiss for an unbelievable $350,000! That's a crazy amount of cash to throw around, but at least it went to a good cause.

Its nice to hear about stars doing good things and helping those in need. Madonna adopted a baby from malawi and has been doing more charity ever since. Maybe she wants to set a good example for her son.
