Karina Smirnoff and Maksim Chmerkovskiy are Engaged

It was just six months ago that we saw Karina Smirnoff crying on The Chelsea Handler Show over her breakup with Mario Lopez. It was understandable since they had been together for 2 1/2 years. Now it appears that she and her Dancing With the Stars pal, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, are engaged to be married. That was fast! According to reports from E! Online, Maksim proposed to his ladylove at midnight as they rang in 2009 together. Even though it's only been a few months, Karina happily accepted the Harry Winston sparkler. Wait - do you think she'll take his super long last name?

OMG! this is so awesome! i love both of them on the show, and am so happy that karina has found happiness and love after heartbreak. they are a gorgeous couple and will have beautiful children. =) cute!
