Ashlee Simpson Comes to Sister Jessica's Defense
New mom Ashlee Simpson has decided to step in and address the recent chatter about her big sister. Cruel gossip tabloids have been all over Jessica Simpson, 28, about her recent weight gain. The comments stemmed from recent photos of Jess at the 99.9 Kiss Country Radio Chili Cookoff in Florida. According to some critics (who I think are being ridiculous), Jessica has put on 20-30 pounds and they were less than kind about it. Ashlee, 24, had this to say on her personal blog:
"I am completely disgusted by the headlines concerning my sister's weight. A week after the inauguration and with such a feeling of hope in the air for our country, I find it completely embarrassing and belittling to all women to read about a woman's weight or figure."
Not only did she berate the critics, but Ashlee also sent a positive message out to her teenage fans saying, "All women come in different shapes, sizes, and forms. How can we expect teenage girls to love and respect themselves in an environment where we criticize a size 2 figure?"
