Wondering why Chris Brown and Rihanna were mysteriously absent from the Grammys last night? Chris, 19, was 'busy' surrendering to Los Angeles police on possible felony battery charges against a woman, according to TMZ. After posting $50,000 bail, he was quickly released and is due in court March 5. According to the LA Times, "The victim, who was later identified by sources familiar with the case as Rihanna, suffered visible injuries and identified Brown as her attacker, according to the police report. Authorities did not describe her injuries or whether she was treated for them."
As unfortunate as the situation is, if this turns out to be true, let's just hope Rihanna is smart enough to walk away from this guy and never look back.

Chris Brown is presumed innocent until proven guilty. That is the American way. Not all the details pertaining to this incident have been revealed. Chris Brown, like every other American, is entitled to defenses to counter the allegations against him. Therefore, it would probably be wise to hold off judging him until we find out more. It has not been established who caused Rihanna’s bruises. This will be left to a trier of fact. Reports indicate they had come from a party prior to the incident. Whether Rihanna or Chris Brown had alcohol at the party or thereafter and the affects of the alcohol on the both Rihanna’s and Chris Brown’s behavior and mental states should be explored.

I think it’s pretty sad that Chris Brown would stoop that low. I mean, the guy’s been famous for FOREVER!! (hah…no pun intended) but..shouldn’t he know better by now? He’s an amazing singer…but beating up his girlfriend? Now that’s just crossing the line. As for Rihanna, I hope that she is smart enough to walk away. Obviously, he has some issues…and does she really want to put up with that? I hope not.
