Liz Smith's Legendary Gossip Column Dropped From The NY Post

It's a sad day for us here in the world of celebrity gossip. Writer Liz Smith's legendary column in the NY Post will no longer be published, according to reports from CNN. "The Post is grateful to have been able to publish Liz Smith's legendary column for so many years. We wish her the very best for the future," Editor Col Allan said in a statement Tuesday.

In an interview with WABC TV, Liz, 86, commented that Friday "will be the first time in 33 years that there hasn't been a Liz Smith column in a New York paper." She added, "That hurts my heart. I would hate to see another newspaper fail. When I came to New York, there were nine newspapers. I've worked for seven of them. They just disappear out from under you," she said.

For those of you looking to get your Liz Smith fix, as of next week, her work will still appear on wowOwow.com, an online community organized and run by women.
