Star Jones, former co-host of The View, spoke to Larry King to set the record straight once and for all about her sudden departure from the show. Check out what Star had to say about the much talked about on-air catfight between Barbara Walters, Joy Behar, and Elisabeth Hasselbeck.
What Star said in the interview about The View:
"Something has been on my heart. The show is moving in another direction and I will not be returning next year. Barbara, I want to thank you for giving me the opportunity of a lifetime."
The way she phrased her little memo, Star made it sound as though she had decided to leave the show of her own free will. Anyone who has picked up a tabloid in the last month would certainly know that the truth is very different. The show had been planning to replace Meredith Viera with Rosie O'Donnell in September and Star was not pleased. It's no secret that Star and Rosie have been longtime rivals and the producers took notice.
"I'm not used to being blasted for telling the truth"
Doesn't she mean to say that she's simply not used to telling the truth at all? For years, Star Jones coyly skipped past questions regarding her weight loss. When asked by Larry King if she mislead viewers into believing that she lost the weight through diet and exercise, she said absolutely not. She claims that she was forthright in saying that she had a doctor "intervene" and help her take control of her health. Oh, he intervened, he just did it with a scalpel and some general anesthesia!
