Young Inspiration:
After seeing Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory for the first time, Salma decided she wanted to pursue the world of acting.
First Big Break:
In 1995, producer Robert Rodriguez gave Salma her big break by casting her in the movie Desperado. A year later, he cast her in From Dusk Till Dawn with George Clooney and Quentin Tarantino.
Oscar Nomination :
In 2002, Salma starred in and co-produced Frida which was nominated for six Oscars. She was up for the title of best actress, making her the first Latin actress to be nominated in the category.
