Laura Jeanne Reese Witherspoon was born on March 22, 1976 in New Orleans, Louisiana.

In 1999, Reese married actor Ryan Phillippe. They have two children together, Ava Elizabeth (born in 1999) and Deacon (born in 2003). The couple announced their separation in October of 2006 and eventually divorced.
After months of speculation, Reese began dating actor Jake Gyllenhaal in October 2007.
At age 7, Reese began modeling, doing local tv commercials, and started children's acting classes at a community college. By the age of 9, she was signed up for adult acting classes.
