Actress Selma Blair and musician Ahmet Zappa are calling it quits after only two years of marriage. "Selma and Ahmet have decided to divorce but love each other very much and will continue to be close friends," a spokesperson for the couple told People magazine. Why does this under the radar couple even have a spokesperson? I'm sure everyone is sick of hearing that fluffy stuff about Hollywood couples remaining the closest of friends after a split.
Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston tried to pull the wool over our eyes with that one and it most definitely didn't pan out. Why can't they just call it like it is? Why doesn't someone release an honest statement for once saying, "We have decided to divorce on the grounds that we no longer respect or even like each other. We've both been sleeping with other people for months now and it's just easier this way. Plus, we hope that the publicity from this split will help our respective careers." Now that would be truth in journalism!
