The Nasty Brinkley/Cook Divorce Trial is Over

From Diana Mimon, About.com GuideJuly 10, 2008

The insanely nasty and quite public divorce trial between model Christie Brinkley and Peter Cook is suddenly over. Following an arduous night, Christie and Peter came to a mutual agreement early this morning regarding everything from custody arrangements to real estate.

Christie was granted sole custody of their two children, Jack, 13, and Sailor, 10, with visitation to be decided by her. She's holding on to all 18 of their Hamptons properties and must fork over $2.1 million to her ex, according to People.

It's been two years since Peter admitted to having an inappropriate relationship with his then assistant Diana Bianchi. If you recall, she was only 19 at the time and the media chastised him over it. Perhaps the decision to end this current war was fueled by a desire to get out of that blaring tabloid spotlight once and for all.

Isn’t it funny that in the case of Peter Cook, Christie was “shocked and hurt” at Peter’s infidelity. However, she did the same to Billy Joel by not only “falling in love” with Ricky Taubman prior to getting divorced (infidelity at its best), but also getting pregnant? How come she comes off as the sweet angel, but yet she did the same? What goes around comes around. I feel sorry for the kids. If she cannot let go of the hatred, they will suffer greatly.
