When word got out that actress Shannon Elizabeth and dancer Derek Hough were more than just partners on Dancing With the Stars season six, critics had their doubts. Most people assumed it wouldn't last past the season, but they stayed strong, moved in together, and dated for over a year.
Now, Shannon and Derek's romance has come to an end and they decided to announce the news via Twitter, according to People. How very trendy indeed.
On Friday night, Derek tweeted: “Hi everyone, we wanted you all to know directly from us, that [we] have decided to end our relationship as boyfriend & girlfriend...” and Shannon posted the continuation with: “however, we love & care about each other very much & will remain friends & in each other's lives.”
