Robyn Rihanna Fenty on February 20, 1988 in St. Michael, Barbados.

Early Start:

At the young age of 16, Rihanna met Jay-Z, CEO of Def Jam Records, and he was blown away. He heard her sing a few songs and immediately signed her to his record label.

Volatile Romance:

On February 8, Rihanna and her boyfriend Chris Brown were having an argument in a car when he allegedly began to brutally attack her. Police were called to the scene and Rihanna was treated for her injuries.

Just weeks later, Rihanna made the decision to take Chris back while they worked on their issues. Fans around the world were less than impressed with that choice. Most people worried for her safety but they split again soon after.

Charitable Ways:

In February 2008, she joined with H&M and Designers Against Aids (DAA) to promote "Fashion Against Aids" to help raise awareness to young people.

Rihanna also started her own foundation called "Believe" to provide sick kids with medical treatment, school supplies, and toys.
