A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words
Britney Spears has always been known for her scandalous behavior, but this time she may have taken it too far by endangering the safety of her own child. On February 7, 2006, photographers snapped photos of Britney driving her car with baby Sean Preston in tow. As usual, her hubby Kevin Federline was nowhere to be found. If this sounds like an average day in the life of the pop princess, it was anything but that.
In Her Words
Britney claims that while parked outside a Starbucks, she released her son from his car seat just to play with him as she awaited her bodyguard. She then said that as the paparazzi began to approach her car, she became extremely alarmed and reacted quickly. She reacted by deciding to drive away with baby Sean still resting in her lap.
So Many Questions
The burning question at the top of everyone's mind is more than just "what was she thinking?" How about "couldn't she take the extra two minutes to strap her son safely into his car seat?" If not, "why didn't she simply hand her baby off to the bodyguard sitting next to her in the passenger seat?" Also, "why was she seen smiling in all of the photos if she claims she was so alarmed?"
Trouble With the Law
Los Angeles deputies were dispatched to Britney and Kevin Federline's home later that day to gather information. The information will be passed along to the Department of Family and Children Services. No charges were pressed by authorities against the pop princess that afternoon.
